Sarah started her nursing career in 1998 at Leighton Hospital, where she qualified as a general adult nurse; initially working on the general surgical wards and then moved to accident and emergency. She started work at Ashfields in the initial months of it opening in 2004 as a Treatment Room nurse and has since developed skills in specialities, such as travel and expedition medicating, vaccinations and diabetes.

She now focuses on providing high level diabetic care (both Type 1 and Type 2), and leads the diabetic nursing team.  She is extremely motivated and experienced in effective education and self-management of each diabetic patient and promotes collaborative care planning between her team, the GPs and the patients.
